General Motors Ramos Arizpe
May 2017 – 2019 · Completed project
The new CSS2 Engine Plant integrated three facilities with distinct thermal requirements within a single complex. Reaclima executed the HVAC, ventilation and extraction scope across all three.
The main building received 10 TMI units in 40 modules totaling 2,400 tons of cooling capacity, and 60 extractors delivering 1,260,000 CFM of extraction. The air distribution system totals 4,500 meters of 36-inch and 44-inch spiral duct, gauge 20. Substation ventilation and heating contributes 125,000 CFM of independent ventilation with Johnson Controls equipment.
The Central Utility Complex received 130 tons of direct expansion with Trane equipment and variable air volume system, plus 72,000 CFM of independent ventilation with Johnson Controls equipment and Price sound attenuators.
The administrative building received 132 tons of direct expansion with variable air volume system and Price equipment. Kitchen ventilation was resolved with MSX Greenheck equipment, totaling 20 tons with chilled water equivalent to 6,300 CFM.
Altogether, the project totals 2,682 tons of cooling capacity, 1,463,300 CFM of ventilation and extraction, 4,500 meters of duct, 10 TMI units and 60 extractors.
